Table Tennis Professionals

Chris Xu

Born in Harbin, China, Chris started table tennis training at age 8. Taking the game as her profession since the age of 12, Chris won the Women’s Championship of the Chinese National Open in 1986. Chris immigrated to Canada in 1990, where she won the first Women’s Single Championship of the Canadian National Open in 1992, and many more National and B.C. Provincial Championships in later years. She played for Canada for 14 years as a national team member from 1995 to 2008. Chris has participated in over 100 international competitions.

Wei Jain Ren

Wei at Beijing OlympicsWei Jian Ren debuted as a professional table tennis player in China.
After moving to Brazil in 1989, he became the head coach of the Brazilian Table Tennis National Team, leading the Brazilian National team to numerous national and international championships in the Olympics, Pan American Games, Latin American Games, Open Championships, and the World Cup. During his reign as head coach, he led the National team to a 1st place finish in many Latin American Games, thereby ranking in the top 20 in the Class A World Ranking. The team also broke the Brazilian record of most medals won in the Pan American Games, receiving gold medals in the singles, doubles, and team categories. Wei Jian Ren also competed himself, placing 1st in many Latin American Veteren Cups, as well as winning many national and international championships.

Chang-Chun Yu

Chang-Chun Yu is a former world champion and head coach of the Canadian International Table Tennis Association.
